Dear Patriots Families,

Please see important message below from Cabarrus County School regarding Program Choice & Realignment.

If you are interested in your student continuing in the STEM program for 24-25 school year, please apply following the directions listed.

All current families need to apply for STEM for the 2024-25 if interested in continuing in STEM.

Important Message on Program Choice & Realignment Changes:

As we embark on the realignment study for the upcoming academic year, we are implementing changes to the program choice process for community schools. Please keep in mind that no realignment decisions have been made at this time.  Per our current timeline, a final decision on realignment will be made in February 2024. 

 

In the past, families may not have applied to a programmatic theme if it aligned with their neighborhood (zoned) school. 

However, for the 2024-2025 school year, current families interested in the continuation of a program must apply during our program choice window in ordered to be considered. As you know, this window is currently open and will be extended through December 31st, 2023.

Application Timeline

Applications for the 2024-25 school year will be open from Tuesday, October 17, 2023 to December 31, 2023. Parent notification of placement will occur in the online family dashboard the week of February 1, 2024.

Parents will have until February 15, 2024 to make a decision and accept a seat in their online dashboard. Any seats not accepted within this window will be forfeited to waitlisted students. 

  • Monday, October 16, 2023 - Program Choice Fair at The Cabarrus Arena and Events Center Gold Hall along with Cabarrus County Schools "Futures Fair" from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M.
  • Tuesday, October 17, 2023 - Program Choice applications for the 2024-25 school year open.
  • October 17th thru December 15th - Program Open Houses held at each Program Choice school.
  • Saturday, December 31, 2023- Applications close at midnight.
  • Week of February 1, 2024 - Parent notification of placement will occur in the online family dashboard .

Placement Process

Demand for CCS Program Choice currently exceeds seat availability.  A randomized lottery is used to select students for placement.  Notifications of placement are sent in February to the families of all applicants.  Students who are not admitted at the end of the application period shall be placed on a waiting list in the order determined by the randomized lottery.  Students shall be admitted from the waiting list as space becomes available, up to the first student school day in the order that he/she appears on the waiting list.  

To begin the application process:

  1.  Log in to your ScribOnline account using your email address at https://ccsprogramchoice.scriborder.com/ 
  2. If you do not have an existing account, please see these directions on how to create an account and associate a student.
  3. Select the green "Begin Application" button on the righthand side of the screen.
  4. Select the blue button under the student for which you are submitting the application.
  5. Click on the link for the program for which you are applying. Hit the "Select" button.
  6. Complete all application fields and use the "Proceed" button at the bottom of the page.
  7. You will receive a confirmation email and number when the application is complete. If you do not receive a confirmation number, your application has NOT been submitted.
